This newly constructed home is situated in a rural environment and in the design, JUMA had to take into account a maximum allowable volume of 1000m³, according to the non-conforming zoning principle.

The aim was to create a compact floor plan that still feels spacious.

The aspect of “see-through” forms the basis of the concept for this project.

On one side, the house offers a beautiful view of the expansive fields, while the street side is oriented to the south. Therefore, the house is positioned as far from the road as possible, allowing for the creation of a large garden with a natural swimming pond on that side. The outbuilding, on the other hand, is placed parallel to the street, thereby forming a buffer between the garden and the house, which can enjoy the necessary privacy.

A garden wall flanks the covered terrace and provides a visual separation from the driveway with associated carport.

The bedrooms are all north facing and the children's area is located upstairs under a slightly sloping shed roof.

In terms of materials, a combination of rammed earth and natural, rough wood was chosen, giving the design a calm yet characterful appearance. The house invites the residents to fully immerse themselves in the surrounding landscape and to "ground" themselves in it.
